To paint, first prime overall with the foreground colour (white). Add a coat of matt varnish over the lettering. Next, paint in the background colour (nearly always black). Where this creeps onto the lettering, gently sand it away, revealing the first colour underneath.
The etching tool for this item has been lost and it will be discontinued when sold out.
