Description
This fret contains 16 delayed action autocouplings for use on 4mm scale standard gauge layouts, i.e. 00, EM and P4 gauges. They are also of use for slightly broader gauges, such as the 21mm gauge used for Irish prototypes, and larger scale narrow gauges such as 0-16.5. 4mm scale narrow gauge modellers (e.g. working in 009) are recommended to use the smaller DGD coupling, whilst standard gauge modellers with large radius curves might wish to consider the intermediate DGE size.
Lengths of PBW phosphor bronze and SWDG plated steel wire are provided in the pack. The use of the LBJBC loop bending jig is recommended, so that the coupling loops are all made to the same size. To make the couplings operational, you will also require one or more PK MAG electromagnets.
The actual size of the fret is 49 x 79½mm; it is etched in 0.012″ brass. Each coupling is approximately 16mm long and 8mm wide. The photos of the completed couplings are actually of DGA, but the overall appearance is the same.
