The Midland developed the Diagram 379 meat van to satisfy an express freight requirement for meat and other perishable items. Although these predominantly ran on passenger services this was not exclusively so, as reflected by the variations between the various lots, which are covered by the kit. The photos show the van in passenger (crimson lake) and goods (grey) liveries.
